Temporary Importation of a Motor Vehicle
If you want to import your motor vehicle on a temporary basis, you can. And there are various schemes available to you. The most common one for motor vehicles, is one that allows a vehicle to be imported, and used, for a six-month period (although this can be extended), you can use your vehicle on the UK roads, without paying any import duty and / or VAT.
This example, above, is just one of many ways of temporarily importing a motor vehicle. To find out how it would work for your particular circumstances, please contact us. ukimports
Entering your goods to HMRC under Inward Processing Relief (IPR)
When we declare this vehicle as being imported temporarily to be worked on, we must declare certain details of this work to HMRC. Therefore, please can you advise the following:
- Please outline the alterations/adjustments/repairs which will be made to these goods.
- Please advise whether all of those listed will be undertaken at your premises. If not, then please advise what will be done elsewhere and provide details of that address.
- Please advise how long you anticipate these goods will need to stay in the UK, before being re-exported outside of the EC.
- Please advise the Country which the goods will be exported to, if they are not going back to the Country from where they were shipped.
